Rev. Kory Koch

Rev. Kory Koch is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church (UMC), and currently serves in these clergy roles:

• Chaplain at CCS (Community Caring Services) Hospice in Dublin,
• Chaplain, PRN at Texas Health, Stephenville hospital, and
• part-time pastor of Oakdale & Hannibal United Methodist Churches.

Kory is endorsed by the UMC as a Healthcare Chaplain. His passion is coming alongside people during times of suffering and allowing the Holy Spirit to flow through him as a conduit of God’s grace to bring comfort, peace, hope, and healing. Kory has pastored small, rural churches in the Central Texas area since 2003, and has lived and served in the Stephenville community since 2013. Kory is part of the Stephenville Ministerial Alliance. The Body of Christ, the Church with a capital C, is healthiest when all of the congregations in a community work together. Kory strives to make this a reality in the Stephenville area. He primarily does this by enabling the patients he encounters in the hospital or hospice service to stay connected to their home church and pastor.

Kory is also a Certified Working Genius Facilitator. The Working Genius Model is a productivity and personality tool that helps teams become better at what they do because it helps each team member better understand themselves while appreciating and marveling at their team members’ differences. This tool helps teams rid themselves of guilt and judgement, bond around differences, and build trust.

Kory has a dream of providing emotional and spiritual care in the workplace. 5 out of the 12 disciples that Jesus called were called while they were at work – the 4 Fishermen (Peter, Andrew, James, and John) and a tax collector (Matthew or Levi) (see Luke 5:1-11, 27-32). Kory believes that the workplace is still a place where God shows up and does some miraculous and powerful things in people’s lives.

When Kory isn’t working, he loves to spend time with his wife, Holly, and their 3 kids, Nora, Sam, and Ben. As a family they make memories together by traveling across our country and beyond, camping in National and State Parks, and experiencing cultural, artistic, and historical places and events.
